About Thyme Reader traffic

Thyme Reader is a personal RSS reader. If you are seeing requests from ThymeReader in your server logs, it means someone has subscribed to one of your RSS or Atom feeds from this reader.

The fetcher checks feeds so it can show new posts to subscribers. It identifies itself with a user agent like:

ThymeReader/0.5 (+https://rss.shane.computer/fetcher; 16 subscribers; RSS reader)

The subscriber count is the number of active Thyme Reader subscriptions for that feed. Thyme Reader sends normal conditional HTTP headers when it has them, so unchanged feeds can return 304 Not Modified.

Thyme Reader is not a crawler for search indexing, AI training, or content scraping. It is fetching feed updates on behalf of people who asked to read your site.
